Howdy 3 Scorers! Jim Martin here up in Leesburg, ‘bout 100 miles up northwest of Orlando. My wife and I relocated 10 years ago following my son who married a Lake county teacher. Just now I got in touch with Phil Mansueto, who updated me about the 3Score website. Until 2021, I was playing for my community (Highland Lakes) team. ‘Had a knee replacement which ended my playing. I managed, then got certified as an umpire which pays $25 per game. ‘Can’t run, but I do get around, playing tennis and Pickleball. I hear from friends around the country that softball seems to be waning; Millennials aren't joining, so player numbers are down. Too bad! I hope Clearwater’s gem, 3Score, is still carrying on. I wanted to let you know of my Uncle's passing. I believe you knew him. I have pictures of him wearing a 3 Score Softball jacket, that's how I found your group. Douglas "Stretch" Brown went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our hearts are broken, but we also know we will see Uncle Dougie again. Dougie was very funny, a constant showman. He loved karaoke, racewalking, bicycling, playing basketball, softball and following sports teams. He enjoyed playing the part of Uncle Sam and President Lincoln at Gasparilla, Turkey Trot and other Tampa Bay area races. He leaves behind his brother Ken, sister Carol, four nieces, one nephew and 12 grand nieces and nephews. Childhood was more fun because of him!!! Thank you friends for praying for our very loved Uncle Dougie!

Just wanted to bid a fond farewell to all the men and women I have had the pleasure to play alongside for 5 years. Great group of people!! I had an amazing time playing and will miss you all. Thanks for everything!
